Catbells Guide is free to use. To pay for it, some links on this site are **affiliate links**: if you click one and then buy something or book a stay, the company may pay us a small commission. **It doesn't cost you anything extra**, and it never changes what we write. We only link to things that are genuinely useful for the place we're writing about, and nobody pays to be mentioned.

Affiliate links are marked as sponsored links in the page code, and pages that contain them say so.

We may earn commission from:

- **Amazon** (maps, books and kit): some pages link to searches on Amazon.co.uk, for example for the OS Explorer OL4 map, Wainwright's guide, *The Tale of Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle* and walking kit. They are searches, not recommendations of one product: we haven't tested the products. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases, at no cost to you. The links are marked on the page.
- **Snaptrip** (holiday cottages): the Food and Stay page and the walk from Keswick link to Snaptrip's cottages around Keswick. The link runs through the **Awin** affiliate network; if you book after following it we may earn a commission, at no cost to you.
